Aechmea 'Blue Tango' is a patented hybrid from Bullis Bromeliads. This cultivar of Ae. fendleri parentage is a landscaping sized plant about 2'+ high with a 3' foot spread before bloom. The bloom can spike to over 48".  Bullis Bromeliads says it can be used for interior but I think they are referring to large office foyers and mall courts.

I've been growing my clones a bit on the hard side, but they still take the sun quite well. The cobalt blue on hot pink inflorescence lasts beyond 6 months making this a much sought after plant. There are 3 clones in bloom this year that I've placed towards the view into the front entrance, eliciting many positive comments.

This will form a nice clump within a few years as its good for 3+offsets, that require 2-3 years to bloom. However since everyone wants a clone, getting that clump going may take longer.
