Aechmea nudicaulis 'La Tigra' has excellent silver banding over orange foliage. I first saw this at Tropiflora while in bloom. I liked it then due to its unique foliar tones complimenting the inflorescence, and I still like it. I look forward to getting a clump growing.

Per the BSI Registry: 'cv. of nudicaulis - Berg said, "Collected in Costa Rica - 18" tall rather open flaring form w/pronounced 'thumb prints' - 6 leaves w/sharp small spines - typical inflorescence - red scape and bracts - green sepals - yellow flowers - unique in color - entire plant is reddish orange w/silver grey banding". Named for river near collection locality.'
