Aechmea pineliana (var. Pineliana) is a medium-large bromeliad specie from South-Eastern Brazil. The conical flower head has yellow flowers rising above a large rosette of foliage.

Originally collected and shipped to Europe in the mid-eighteen hundreds this plant was named in honor of Charles Pinel.
