Billbergia eloiseae is a stunning helicoid from Columbia, named in honor of
Central Florida's Eloise Beach.
I purchase this from Eloise at the annual
Spring Leu Garden Sale where I got the stories of this plant and of
Hohenbergiopsis guatemalensis. The stories are inter-related and your going to
have to talk to Eloise to get them.
I don't know yet if this plant is self seeding like some other helicoids.
While this was blooming, the pollen grains were wet secretions,
from dew. I swiped this to its counterpart. I did not attain successful pollination
as nothing fruited. Perhaps if I bring this in to a more stable environment
during next bloom period.
