Subgenus Longipetalopsis

Neoregelia mucugensis is seemingly familiar. Often time when I grow a clone for the first time I had acquired it with minimal root. I tend to baby the clones - then when established I continue to baby them - forgetting them in the shadows. Some plants need more light and more challenging conditions to bring out its unique characteristics beyond its sexual parts. I was comparing pictures in Elton Leme's 'Canistropsis - Bromeliads of the Atlantic Forest' with my plants. Patience and time.
